Scouting across South East Berkshire
South East Berkshire Scouts supports young people and volunteers across the District, helping local Scout Groups provide safe, inclusive and high quality Scouting.
Through Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers, young people can take part in activities, camps, challenges and experiences that help them build confidence, independence, teamwork and skills for life.
Our role as a District is to support local Scout Groups and their volunteers. We help with programme, activities, volunteer development, training, governance and collaboration across the area.
Scouts is local
Our Scout Groups are rooted in their local communities. Each Group has its own identity, leadership team and programme, while also being part of the wider South East Berkshire District.
By working together across the District, Groups can share ideas, skills, resources and opportunities. This helps us offer more experiences to young people and better support to our volunteers.
Powered by volunteers
Everything we do depends on volunteers.
Some volunteers work directly with young people. Others support events, administration, governance, buildings, finance, communications, training or specialist activities.
There is no single way to volunteer. People can give their time regularly, occasionally or for specific projects and events.
Our aim
We want every young person in South East Berkshire who wants to take part in Scouting to have access to a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience.
We also want our volunteers to feel supported, connected and able to enjoy their roles.
